Rahul Dravid’s son Samit’s six-hitting show continues in Maharaja T20 Trophy – WATCH

Former head coach of India Rahul DravidSamit’s son finally got some runs when his Mysore Warriors team took on Gulbarga Mystics this afternoon. Devdutt Padikkal had won the toss and put the Warriors in to bat first. After they were reduced to 18/2 in the fourth over, Samit and the captain Karun Nair He added 83 runs for the third wicket to take his team into a comfortable position.
Nair’s 66 off 35 balls and a knock of 40 runs off 13 balls from Jagadeesha Suchith ensured the Warriors reached a respectable score of 196/8 in their 20 overs.
Meanwhile, Samit’s masterful six came off the second delivery of the tenth over. Mystics’ Praveen Dubey bowled a googly on the off-stump.
Samit stayed at the crease and executed a brilliant inside-out stroke, clearing the ropes towards the deep cover zone. Watch the video here:
Samit finished on 33 off 24 balls, with four boundaries and a six in the only over. He was dismissed by Sharan Goud in the 12th over but by then he had already got his team out of trouble with Nair by his side.
At the time of writing, the Mystics were at 94/4 after 10 overs, and needed 103 more runs in the next 10 overs. Manoj Bhandage, who had played a brilliant knock in the Warriors’ previous game, has taken two wickets.
Meanwhile, Samit has managed to enthrall the audience with his elegant shot-making skills, coupled with his surname that ensures all eyes are on him when he is at the crease.
The Warriors started with a seven-run win against Shivamogga Lions on Thursday but fell by four wickets to Bengaluru Blasters on Friday. They are currently fourth in the points table with two points from as many games and a net run rate of -0.08.
A win on Sunday would take the Warriors to third place behind Hubli Tigers. They will play Mangalore Dragons in Bengaluru on Monday.
