Indian Railways has cancelled 72 trains running between Rajnandgaon and Nagpur railway stations in Maharashtra as the department is laying a third track between the stations. For the construction of this line, large-scale pre-interlocking and electronic interlocking work is being carried out between Rajnandgaon-Kalamna station. Due to this, 100 trains are being affected on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Out of these, around 72 trains have been cancelled. The routes of 22 have been changed and the routes of 6 trains have been shortened.
The railway administration has cancelled these trains between August 4 and August 20. As the festival of Rakshabandhan is on August 19 and people planning to travel should re-check the status of their trains. Railways is spending around Rs 3,540 crore on the connectivity of the 228-km third line between Rajnandgaon and Nagpur stations.

- 11039/11040 Kolhapur-Gondia-Kolhapur Express will terminate at Wardha and will operate between Wardha and Gondia from August 12 to 19.
- 08743/08744 Gondia-Itwari-Gondia Express train will terminate at Kamptee and will not operate between Kamptee and Itwari from 7th to 19th August.
Trains diverted
- 12807/12808 Visakhapatnam-Nizamuddin-Visakhapatnam route will be diverted from Vijayawada. The route will be extended from Balharshah and Nagpur between August 6 and August 20.
- 20843/20844 Bilaspur-Bhagat Ki Kothi-Bilaspur Express will run from August 5 to 17 via Bilaspur, New Katni and Itarsi.
- 20845/ 20846 Bilaspur-Bikaner-Bilaspur Express from August 8 to 11 via New Katni and Itarsi
