“I watched the film ‘Vaazhai’ by director Mari Selvaraj. After a long time, a wonderful and quality film is coming to Tamil cinema. Mari Selvaraj has taken us back to his younger days. It seems like we are experiencing the sufferings and hardships that the boy went through. In the climax, when the boy wanders around hungry, when the mother cries that my son has not eaten even a morsel, our hearts beat wildly,” the statement read.
He added, “Mari Selvaraj has proved that he is a great director with this film. My heartfelt thanks and best wishes to Mari Selvaraj.” “Vaazhai” is based on true events from Mari Selvaraj’s life. In Vaazhai (Banana), he presented a film through the eyes of a child, but it is not a film for children. Meanwhile, on the work front, Rajinikanth will next be seen in “Coolie.”
While details about Coolie remain a secret, the makers released a teaser that hinted at Rajinikanth’s action-packed role, wielding a belt made of gold watches to take on goons. The teaser, presented in monochrome with gold detailing, left fans intrigued.
“Coolie“ marks the debut collaboration between Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth. Backed by Sun Pictures, the film would also star Sivakarthikeyan in a pivotal role, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The release date of the film is yet to be announced. Apart from “Coolie“, Rajinikanth will be seen in “Vettaiyan“ alongside the superstar. Amitabh Bachchan.
Rajinikanth has completed the shooting of his next film, directed by TJ Gnanavel. “Vettaiyan”, Rajinikanth’s 170th film, is set to release worldwide in October this year.
