Ramayana: Mukesh Chhabra reveals that several actors turned down playing Lakshman opposite Ranbir Kapoor

The casting director revealed that an actor with a strong track record in television has been roped in to play Lakshman in RamayanaHe shared, “We have found a lovely actor for Lakshman. A lot of people auditioned for the role. But I am very happy with the actor we have chosen, this will be his first Bollywood film. It was the last role we have cast. We have cast a young actor who has done a lot of work in television; he is a lovely guy. We couldn’t have found a better Lakshman. I am very happy that the people we approached initially said no. Two or three people said no because they think Ram and Lakshman will always have to be together.”
Mukesh Chhabra says no one can beat Ranbir in acting
Mukesh Chhabra spoke about casting Lakshman in the mythological drama starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi. He said, “Nitesh (Tiwari) bhai had decided to cast Ranbir very early in the process, and once you watch the film, you will see why it is such an apt casting. I think the actors I have worked with the most in my career are Ranbir and Rajkummar Rao. No one can beat Ranbir when it comes to acting… He is very neutral about it. He is not too bothered about successes and failures. All he is concerned about is acting.”
According to early reports, Ramayana also stars Yash, Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Deol and Vijay Sethupathi.
