Ramdev criticises allopathy, says it caused millions of “deaths”

Ramdev attacks allopathy: Yoga guru Ramdev has renewed his outspoken criticism of allopathic medicine, claiming it has led to the deaths of “millions of people in India”. Speaking at a press conference in Patanjali Yogpeeth, Ramdev condemned what he called “toxic” synthetic drugs produced by foreign pharmaceutical companies.

In his remarks, Ramdev emphasized his vision of a “swadeshi revolution,” advocating a shift toward indigenous and natural healthcare practices under the banner of Patanjali Wellbeing. He said these synthetic drugs, which he described as “poisonous”, were responsible for widespread suffering and death, and compared their impact to the historical tragedies that occurred during British colonial rule.

Ramdev’s criticism of allopathic medicine is not new and has already led to legal disputes. He has faced lawsuits from the Indian Medical Association (THERE IS) and an FIR on his controversial statements.

Recently, the Delhi High Court asked Ramdev and his associate Acharya Balkrishna to retract their claims that allopathy was responsible for numerous COVID-19 deaths and that PatanjaliCoronil’s was a cure for the virus. The court’s decision came after a lawsuit filed by doctors’ associations, which questioned the claims as unfounded.

Despite these challenges, Ramdev remains steadfast in his commitment to promoting natural and traditional medicine through PatanjaliHe has expressed frustration at what he sees as an ongoing struggle for medical autonomy and freedom, stressing that his goal is to replace reliance on synthetic drugs with indigenous solutions.

While Ramdev continues to champion his vision, the debate between traditional and allopathic medicine remains a contentious issue in India’s healthcare landscape.
