‘Ramleela Gone Wrong’: Actors playing Ram and Ravan clash on stage in UP

Amroha: A performance of Ramlila took a dramatic turn in Uttar Pradesh when a real fight broke out between the actors playing the characters of Lord Ram and Ravan on stage.

The incident occurred in Amroha district during Dussehra celebrations and was captured on a phone and quickly went viral on social media.

The stage was set for the final scene in which Lord Ram was supposed to shoot arrows at Ravan. However, the situation worsened when the actors began pulling their hair and hitting each other. The altercation broke out when the actor playing Ravan pushed the actor playing Ram.

As the fight continued, energetic music continued to play in the background.

Several spectators rushed to the stage to intervene, but the performance had to be stopped while they struggled to separate them.

The actor playing Lakshman found himself caught in the middle, trying to stay in character while his co-stars clashed.

The video, shared by X user Sachin Gupta, was titled: “In Amroha, UP, Ram and Ravan clashed in real life during a Ramlila performance. Ravan pushed Ram. “People came up on stage and intervened.”

Social media users humorously reacted to the incident with one commenting, “While Ramlila was being performed, the Mahabharata really happened.”

Another commented, “This Ravana turned out to be really powerful.” Some users, however, criticized the behavior, saying: “You have to stay within limits. It’s a religious performance. Why is it necessary to behave vulgarly?”
