IFFM, which will be held in Melbourne from August 15-25, will showcase a wide range of films celebrating the rich tapestry of Indian cinema.
The inaugural address will be attended by distinguished dignitaries, Members of the Australian Parliament and several Ministers, highlighting the global impact and cultural significance of Indian cinema.
Mukerji said she is “proud” to represent the Indian film fraternity in the Australian Parliament.
“This is a historic moment for our fraternity and I would be honoured to speak about the growing cultural ties between Australia and India through cinema,” the actor said in a statement.

Festival director Mitu Bhowmik Lange said it was a landmark year for IFFM as it celebrated its 15th anniversary.
“The presence of Rani Mukherji and Karan Johar as keynote speakers at the Australian Parliament is a testament to the growing influence and recognition of the festival,” he added.
