The realme GT 7 Pro, launching in November, will be the first smartphone in India to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
Qualcomm will offer software developers special tools in addition to those already available in Alphabet’s Android operating system to take advantage of those parts of the chip.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite, developed using Qualcomm’s advanced Oryon technology originally designed for laptop chips, brings generative AI capabilities, such as image and text generation, to mobile devices.
“I think Google is moving quickly in AI, but we have our own technology to offer to that end developer,” Chris Patrick, senior vice president and general manager of mobile phones at Qualcomm, told Reuters.
This chip redefines speed and efficiency, with its advanced 2+6 octa-core architecture, industry-leading clock speed of 4+ GHz, and optimized performance powered by AI.

The realme GT 7 Pro will be available on Amazon India and offline stores.
Additionally, Qualcomm said Samsung Electronics, Asustek Computer and Xiaomi, among several others, will use the new chip.
