Reliance Retail partners with Israel-based Delta Galil to redefine India’s apparel market

Indian retail giant Reliance Retail Ventures today announced that it has partnered with Israel-based Delta Galil Industries, Ltd.

Founded in 1975, Delta Galil Industries is a global manufacturer and marketer of branded and private label apparel products for men, women and children.

The company also designs, develops, markets and sells denim and branded apparel under the 7 For All Mankind brand, and women’s and children’s apparel under the Splendid brand.

In addition, it sells its products under brands licensed to the company, including adidas, Wolford, Wilson, Columbia, Tommy Hilfiger and others.

Establishment of a platform for innovation in clothing

The partnership, marked by a 50/50 joint venture, aims to redefine the apparel landscape in the Indian market, the company said in a statement.

Reliance said the partnership aims to establish an apparel innovation platform dedicated to meeting the unique demands of Indian consumers.

Delta Galil will leverage this initiative to expand its presence in the rapidly growing Indian market by offering its acclaimed portfolio of underwear and activewear brands across retail, wholesale and digital channels.

Through the collaboration, Delta Galil will also support the joint venture, which will design and manufacture products for Reliance’s well-established brands, the company said.

Comments from the leaders

V Subramaniam, Managing Director, Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, said, “Delta Galil’s reputation as a global innovator in innerwear and activewear aligns perfectly with Reliance Retail’s commitment to offering innovative and quality products to Indian consumers. Together, we are poised to elevate the consumer product offering in the innerwear and activewear segments across our retail platforms.”

With this joint venture, Reliance Retail will leverage Delta Galil’s capabilities in innerwear and sportswear, key product categories that are poised to grow significantly in the Indian market.

Delta Galil CEO Isaac Dabah echoed this sentiment and highlighted the strategic importance of the collaboration. “Reliance Retail is one of the fastest growing retail companies in the world and we are very proud to partner with the company as we aim to tap into India’s dynamic consumer market, home to over 1.4 billion consumers,” said Dabah.

“This collaboration will enable us to combine our product design, innovation and manufacturing prowess with Reliance Retail’s extensive retail network and distribution reach, paving the way for accelerated growth of the innerwear and sportswear categories across the country. We look forward to embarking on this journey with Reliance for an initial launch with Delta family lifestyle stores and Athena brand for men’s and women’s innerwear, in the next 18 months.”
