Renault India officially becomes the first OEM to take its entire product range to the Umling La Pass, the highest motorable road in the world
Renault India has achieved a major milestone by becoming the first Indian automobile manufacturer to successfully drive its entire product line up the Umling La Pass, the highest motorable road in the world. Located in Ladakh at an altitude of approximately 19,300 feet above sea level, the Umling La Pass presents a formidable challenge to even the most capable vehicles.
The Kwid, the Triber and the Kiger, RenaultRenault’s popular models, designed primarily for urban driving, were put through rigorous testing during the 1,000-kilometre journey from Leh to Pangong Lake, Hanle, Umling La Pass and back. This expedition was aimed at showcasing the versatility and capability of Renault vehicles, proving their ability to tackle challenging terrain and extreme conditions.
Venkatram Mamillapalle, Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer, Renault India, expressed his pride over this achievement and said, “We are extremely proud to be the first OEM to bring our entire product range to the Umling La Pass, showcasing the true spirit of adventure that defines Renault.” He emphasised the robustness and versatility of Renault vehicles and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to delivering exceptional driving experiences to its customers.
