Review: People Of Tomorrow in Vasant Vihar offers a unique vegan dining experience

Veganism is taking off these days, with more and more people embracing this lifestyle. And as it grows, New Delhi has welcomed a ton of vegan restaurants, including People of Tomorrow. Tucked away in the posh Basant Lok market in Vasant Vihar, this spot is perfect for vegan lovers. It’s not just the food that’s vegan-friendly, though – the entire place is designed with sustainability in mind. From the eco-friendly interiors to the cutlery and lanterns, the ambiance here is truly unique. We had the chance to visit recently and dive into its delicious offerings, and here’s a little taste of what we experienced.
We started our evening with some of their signature cocktails. First, we had the Bramblea delicious blend of gin, Java plum and lemon, perfectly balancing the sweet and sour notes. It was fantastic! Then, we took a sip of Dove of tomorrowa refreshing blend of grapefruit, hibiscus, oregano and lemon, which was equally delicious. Finally, we tried the Mirafloreswith pisco, sweet sherry, martini rosso and maraschino cherry. It was a bit bitter at first, but we grew to like it.

As for appetizers, we started with the There wasa modern take on the traditional Parsi dish. Made with scrambled watermelon seed paneer and served with a soft bread, it was pure comfort in one bite, so good that we finished it in no time! Then, we had the Won-A-Tontheir homemade dumplings in a flavorful chili, ginger, and umami sauce. They were soft, juicy, and steamed to perfection. Dim sum fans will love these! We also gave them the nose tartar A must try: an eggplant tartare with lotus stem chips and spring onion sauce. Even if you are not a big fan of eggplant, this dish may win you over!

For the main course we wanted to try the Mazeman but it was not available so we opted for It’s Bianging Instead, this dish featured handmade noodles mixed with chili, garlic, and peanut sauce. It was hearty and full of flavor, making it a very satisfying main dish. Although we only tried this, there are plenty of other interesting options on their menu, such as Tomorrow’s Tomatoes, Pineapple Carpaccio, Fatayer, and Alla Norma. If you have the space, don’t hesitate to try them!

No meal is complete without dessert, and we ended ours on a sweet note with The Eton mess. This refreshing dessert had layers of vanilla custard, soft vanilla sponge, berry compote, fresh mango and coconut oat streusel, topped with mini pavlova. It wasn’t too heavy and was just right.
Overall, we had a great time at People of Tomorrow. If you’re looking for a top vegan restaurant in the city, this place should be on your list!
