Mahant Raghavacarya passed away on Friday morning
Peethadhishwar Mahant Raghavacharya of Raivasa Dham passed away on Friday morning. In a statement issued by Raj Bhavan, Governor Bagde said, ‘Raghavacharya Maharaj’s contribution to the spread of Indian Sanatan culture along with Vedas and Sanskrit will always be remembered. Raghavacharya Maharaj’s departure to heaven is an irreparable loss. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma also expressed his condolences and said, ‘I am saddened to think that Raivasa Peethadhishwar Pujya Sant Raghavacharya Ji Maharaj is not with us today. His passing away is an irreparable loss to Sanatan Dharma.
Saints and leaders mourn the death of Raghavacarya
The Chief Minister further said that “he had a deep connection with the movement for the construction of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple, for which he also went to jail.” He was a senior scholar in Sanskrit language and Vedas and remained dedicated throughout his life to works related to religion and spirituality as well as social welfare. Many leaders, including Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Madan Rathod and Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasara, have also expressed grief over the demise of Sant Raghavacharya.
