BJP MLA from Purulia assembly constituency Sudeep Mukherjee on Thursday made serious allegations and said that the web of manipulation and corruption at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has spread to Purulia Government Deven Mahato Medical College and Hospital. He claimed that everyone from doctors to businessmen are being arrested for corruption and scams worth millions of dollars at RG Tax Hospital but the threads of corruption and scams are also linked to Purulia Hospital. Speaking at the Purulia Press Club here on Thursday, MLA Sudeep Mukherjee said that scams have been committed in the Trinamool Congress state government, from education to sand, coal, ration, food and health sectors. He further said that the biggest scam is related to the health department and government hospitals. When asked what evidence there was to back up the claim or allegation, the MLA insisted that he would submit some evidence at the appropriate time. He will also vigorously raise this issue in the state assembly. The MLA alleges that Malik Viplab Singh of Maa Tara Traders has been arrested for illegally running a canteen on government land along with an illegal contract at RG Kar Hospital. The tender for the cleaning work at Purulia Hospital has also been going on for years in the name of Maa Tara Traders, owned by Viplab Singh. Two other canteens are also running on government land, the rent for which has not been collected by the Medical College till date.
