Rings of Power: Tyroe Muhafidin thinks it would be ‘cool’ if Theo turns out to be the Witch King | Web series

An actor’s process is one to behold. Some prepare for their roles with the help of director’s notes, others learn to play the piano, and some even send their co-stars to be tortured with dead rodents. Gen Z actors have also discovered their own way of immersing themselves in their characters – just ask Tyroe Muhafidin, who plays the human Theo in the Lord of the Rings prequel series. The rings of power. (Read also: Rings of Power showrunner JD Payne explains why Nori-Poppy aren’t the same as Frodo-Sam; whether replacing Vickers was considered)

Could Theo be the potential Witch-king of Angmar?

Tyroe, an 18-year-old Australian actor, harnessed the power of TikTok to prepare for his role four years ago. He created a test account on the app and hacked the algorithm to pull in only informational, fan-generated content about The Lord of the Rings and its extended universe. In an interview with HT, he revealed that, four years later, the account is still active and he uses it to stay up to date with the ever-expanding story of LOTR.

Fan theories

“I was there literally like yesterday. He still has no followers, no one has found him. If anyone finds him, I want them to take a screenshot and send it to me. They can’t find this account, and the username is something I would do,” he left us a clue.

Did you come across any crazy fan theories in your Rings-Tok? “There was a really good one that said Theo was actually Halbrand and that it was two different timelines. It said the Southlands was actually just Halbrand’s backstory and how he ended up where he was, which I thought was really cool, which was obviously wrong, but I thought that was one of my favorites.”

It’s noticeable that he didn’t mention the most potent theory of all about Theo. Fans are eagerly awaiting the origin story of the Witch-king of Angmar – the evil Death Eater who made life miserable for Frodo Baggins and his friends in JRR Tolkien’s beloved fantasy novel. Some are even hoping that Theo will finally be revealed as the Lord of the Nazgûl.

When asked about it, Tyroe said, “I mean, that would be great. I mean, I don’t know what I could say.”

Theo-Arondir’s team

Tyroe shares most of his scenes this season with Ismael Cruz CordovaThe elven soldier Arondir. With Bronwyn gone from the program, the men she left behind find companionship and family in each other. Arondir takes on the role of Theo’s stepfather.

Ismael teases: “We have to make some big decisions this season, very quickly. You know, Sauron is here, and the darkness has come, and you have to figure out what your place is here and what your contribution is. And then other things happen that make our stories take a turn. It moves very quickly and a lot of important things happen.”

Ishmael also notices the unfair treatment Arondir receives. “The guy’s been here two seasons and I don’t know if he’s ever smiled. He’s also very romantic and I don’t think he expected to find love. He didn’t expect to be a stepfather. He didn’t expect to be a leader, you know? And the reality is that he doesn’t get a lot of credit for anything he does. For example, he led the Southlands and did all that stuff, and then, you know, some of the other elves came along and the Númenóreans were like, we’ll take care of this from now on. I was like, I’ve opened the jar, you know? They were like, ah, it was like, okay, okay guys, whatever.”

Rings of Power season 2 launched on Prime Video on August 29 with the first three episodes. The remaining five will be released weekly.
