Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators pose a major threat to Jharkhand, says PM Modi | India News

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday accused the JMM-led ruling coalition in Jharkhand of sponsoring infiltration of Bangladeshis and Rohingyas for vote bank politics.

He said that infiltrators from the neighbouring country are a big threat to Jharkhand as they are changing the demography of Santhal Parganas and Kolhan regions of the state.

“Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators have emerged as a major threat to Santhal Parganas and Kolhan regions. The demographics of these regions are changing rapidly. The tribal population is on the decline. The infiltrators are establishing control over the panchayat system, grabbing land, committing atrocities against the daughters of the state… Every resident of Jharkhand feels insecure,” the chief minister said while addressing the BJP’s ‘Parivartan Maharally’ at Gopal Maidan here.

He also claimed that the JMM was “supporting infiltrators” and that the fact was that “illegal immigrants from the neighbouring country had managed to establish influence” over the ruling party in the state.

Modi called the JMM, RJD and Congress the “biggest enemies of Jharkhand”, saying these parties were “power hungry” and “indulging in vote bank politics”.

The prime minister also said that “the JMM-led government has been trained in the Congress school of corruption. It is time to bid adieu to the JMM which looted mines, minerals and lands of the army.”

Modi, who was scheduled to reach Jamshedpur by helicopter, had to travel to the steel city by road as his chopper could not take off due to inclement weather.

“No obstacle, not even the heavy rain, could stop me from reaching you. I am touched by your love,” he said.

He also claimed that the BJP will come to power in the state after the assembly elections later this year.

“If the BJP comes to power, it will launch an inquiry into the deaths of aspirants during the recruitment drive for excise officers,” he said.

Modi accused the JMM-led coalition of attacking BJP leaders and filing false cases against them.
