KEY POINTS

  • Roman Reigns will return on the September 13 episode of SmackDown
  • WWE officially confirms Reigns’ return date
  • Cody Rhodes vs Solo Sikoa to headline SmackDown’s return on USA Network

Roman reigns will officially return to WWE on this week’s Friday Night Smackdown premiere on USA Network. SmackDown will be televised on USA Network after leaving Fox, and WWE is planning to reunite its all-star cast of Avengers to put on a blockbuster show.

That’s why Roman has been officially announced for the September 13 SmackDown show, along with others like Solo Score, Cody RhodesBianca Belair and Nia Jax.

Roman Reigns is likely to settle the score with Solo Sikoa, the new Tribal Chief will face Cody Rhodes in a steel cage match for the WWE Undisputed Championship. It’s a similar script to the one that debuted at SummerSlam 2024 when Reigns helped Rhodes retain his title against Solo.

WWE is hoping that Reigns’ return to SmackDown will draw as much attention as possible and the Original Tribal Chief likely has revenge on his mind when he comes face to face with Solo Sikoa.

For the uninitiated, Roman Reigns had been teased for the September 13 episode of SmackDown, however, he was later pulled from promotions. That led to speculation about his next appearance, however, fans will be delighted with the latest development.

After a brief hiatus, Roman will be making his return to WWE, and it remains to be seen what his intentions will be as the new Bloodline, featuring the likes of Tanga Loa, Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu, laid waste to the ‘Original Tribal Chief’ when they last faced off.

Reigns’ last official match was at WrestleMania 40 when he lost the Undisputed World Championship to Cody Rhodes and the American Nightmare has successfully defended his title since then, although he did need some help from Roman at SummerSlam.
