Rudra Ecoliftone of the largest plastic recyclers in India and a fully integrated plastic recycling facility in the country, showcased its innovative approach to Sustainable manufacturing at the Plastic Recycling Show ME&A 2024 in Dubai with the launch of a new line of sportswear.

Headquartered in Ludhiana, Punjab, the company has established itself as a leader in recycling and upcycling, and its presence at the event further solidified its commitment to zero-waste practices.

At the event, Akhil Malhotra, Chairman and Managing Director of Rudra Ecovation, highlighted the company’s track record and its future-oriented approach to sustainability. His speech underlined Rudra’s mission to lead the plastic recycling industry through cutting-edge technologies and innovative products.

Rudra Ecovation recycles around 8.8 million plastic bottles a day, helping to reduce 140,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually. By investing in research and development, the company continuously focuses on creating new sustainable products that set new standards in the industry.

According to a statement, at the event Rudra presented its latest innovation: Anaura Athleisure, a sportswear line made entirely of recycled fabricThis range of activewear is designed without the use of harmful chemicals and features moisture-wicking technology using sustainable cellulose, eliminating the need for additional chemical treatments. Not only does the line meet modern performance standards, but it does so with sustainability at its core.

Another highlight of Rudra Ecovation’s presentation was its investment in machinery and the integration of Artificial intelligence (AI) in its processes. With AI, the company can predict the quality of recycled products even before production begins, thereby reducing costs and improving efficiency. This technological advancement ensures that the first sample produced is of the highest quality, minimizing waste and maximizing output. At the core of Rudra’s efforts is the transition from traditional recycling to upcycling. The company focuses on transforming waste materials into innovative, high-quality products. Anaura Upcycled Fabric and non-woven carpets are just a few examples of its product innovations. Many other products are currently in the R&D phase, the release said. With over 26 years of experience, Rudra Ecovation operates a manufacturing facility spanning 100 acres in Ludhiana. Its diverse product range includes rPET yarn, rPET flakes, non-woven fabrics, carpets, and its flagship recycled fabric, Anaura. Its zero-waste manufacturing processes and commitment to innovation have attracted attention both locally and globally.

The PRS Dubai conference also served as a platform for Rudra Ecovation to interact with key leaders in the plastic recycling industry. One of the key takeaways from Malhotra’s speech was the company’s motto: “Buy waste, don’t sell it,” which sums up its zero-waste philosophy. Every part of the recycled plastic bottles, from the label to the cap, is recycled and any waste is processed using pyrolysis technology, ensuring that nothing goes to waste.
