Sanya Malhotra IFFM: Actress Sanya Malhotra wore a dress designed by her mother Renu Malhotra at the premiere of her film “Mrs” at the 15th Indian Film Festival of India (IFFM) in Melbourne. Sanya shared some of her pictures in a post on social media platform Instagram, in which she is seen wearing a purple brocade suit. She has also worn a red brocade coat.
In the caption she wrote: “This is for you, mom. My mother has been my stylist since I was very young. She used to design and sew clothes for my sister and I. She was dedicated to keeping us up to date with fashion.”
She said her mother always told her that she dreamed of studying fashion but due to financial constraints it was not possible. She added: “My mother put all her creativity into dressing us beautifully. Even today, whenever I go to some special event, I definitely follow my mother’s advice. I wanted to honour my mother by wearing a dress designed by her at the Melbourne Film Festival.
She ended the caption by thanking her mother and saying, “Aap ho to hum hain, aapse hi hum hain, aapke hola hum hain.” Directed by Aarti Kadav, “Mrs.” also stars Kanwaljeet Singh and Nishant Dahiya. The film “Mrs” is the story of a woman who is a dancer and a dance teacher before getting married. But after marriage, she has to face society’s expectations as a wife. She tries to find her way, find her voice and identity so that she can create her own identity.
Sanya will next be seen in “Baby John”, an action thriller directed by Kalij. It also stars Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, Jackie Shroff and Vamika Gabbi. This film is a remake of Atlee’s Tamil film “Theri”.
