Australia’s 2024 T20 World Cup campaign did not go as planned. After winning the World Test Championship and ODI World Cup in 2023, they had set their sights on becoming the first team to win ICC trophies in all three formats in a single year. However, they were knocked out of the tournament after back-to-back defeats against India and Afghanistan in the Super 8 stage.
Scotland also performed well in the T20 World Cup. They finished level on points with England in the group stage and almost overtook them to reach the Super 8 stage. However, their lower net run rate was the reason they failed to qualify from their group.
The last time Australia faced Scotland was at the 2024 T20 World Cup, and that is the only time the two teams have met in the shortest format of the game. The Australians won the match with five wickets to spare.
