Chhatarpur Accident: 7 people were killed in a horrific road accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district, while more than 6 people were seriously injured. The accident occurred near Kadari on NH-39. Children are also included among the dead and the death toll is expected to rise.
According to information received, the accidented car is from Uttar Pradesh. She was travelling from Chhatarpur railway station to Bageshwar Dham when a truck from Punjab hit her from behind. After receiving information, the police reached the spot and started rescue operations. They also started searching for the truck.
The car had four times more passengers than its capacity. The accident occurred around 5 am on Tuesday. Nearby people reached the spot, pulled out the injured from the taxi and took them to Chhatarpur district hospital with the help of 108 ambulance service. Meanwhile, the police have taken away the bodies of the deceased. The police are busy identifying the dead.

The rickshaw driver had more passengers seated than the prescribed limit. Later, a vehicle with registration number UP 95 AT 2421 collided with the truck number PB 13 BB 6479 on the highway near Kadari. The dead included both children and elderly people.
Earlier on August 17, three people were killed and at least five others injured in a collision between three vehicles, including a police vehicle, in Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh. According to an official, the accident occurred on the Neemuch-Chittaurgarh highway. Speaking about the accident, Neemuch Superintendent of Police (SP) Ankit Jaiswal said that a police vehicle, a van and a truck were involved in the accident.
