Shiba Inu team announces second game based on Shibarium

Shiba Eternity has officially changed its name to Shiba Inu Games, as announced on Thursday. The rebranded entity, which now operates under the username @PlayWithShib on X, announced its commitment to deepen its foray into gaming by developing more games for the SHIB ecosystem. This strategic shift was conveyed through a post on X that encouraged followers to stay tuned for updates and developments in the Shiba Inu gaming sphere.

“Hey Shib players! We’re evolving into PlayWithShib! This will be your new go-to place for all things Shib games – updates and more. Follow us and be the first to know!” the team said via their social media channel. Shiba Inu’s lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, praised the team’s rebrand and new direction with a tweet: “What an epic move! Shiba Inu Games (@playwithshib) !!#playwithshib Games galore and more! LFG.”

The rebranding follows the initial creation of Shiba Eternity in July 2022, which at the time was focused on the game Shiba Eternity. Released in October 2022, the mobile game enjoyed a brief period of active engagement on X (formerly Twitter) before entering an extended hiatus. The account re-emerged from inactivity on July 16, 2024 to host a closed beta of the game, making it the first game to be released. First inaugural game based on Shibariummy.

Shiba Inu expands its range of games

Expanding its lineup of games, Shiba Inu Games today unveiled “Agent Shiboshi,” a new side-scrolling shooter that places a Shiba Inu named Shiboshi in the role of a secret agent fighting against a group known as the “Shadowcats.” The game introduces an in-game currency system where players can accumulate funds by defeating enemies, which can be used to upgrade their characters’ weapons and equipment.

Lucie, Shiba Inu’s marketing manager, conveyed the details of the game through an X mail:“Agent Shiboshi is an exciting side-scrolling shooter developed by Shiba Inu Games. The game stars Shiboshi, a secret agent who fights against the mysterious Shadowcats. Players can earn in-game currency by defeating enemies, which they can use to upgrade their weapons and equipment.”

He added that “Agent Shiboshi” is part of the broader Shib ecosystem and is initially planned for release on traditional web2 platforms, with later versions intended to be integrated into Shibarium. “Agent Shiboshi is part of the Shib ecosystem and will eventually be released on Shibarium. The game will debut on Web2 platforms, with a Web3 version “We are working on it. Available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for iOS and Android devices,” Lucie revealed.

In early August, she hinted that not only “Agent Shiboshi” would be released, but also “Shiboshi Rush,” another game under the Shiba Inu banner. Lucie described them as “hypercasual games,” emphasizing that their design is simple and fun, making them accessible to players of all skill levels.

At the time of writing, SHIB was trading at $0.00001350.
