Viral Video: A shocking incident has surfaced on social media: a disturbing video captures a woman brutally assaulting her Uber driver with pepper spray.
The unprovoked attack, which occurred on Tuesday night, sparked widespread condemnation and sparked heated debate over violence and possible racial bias.
The incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. at the corner of Lexington Avenue and East 65th Street on the Upper East Side. Dashboard camera footage reveals the horrific moment when Jennifer Guilbeault, a woman sitting in the backseat with a male companion, suddenly appears and sprays the 45-year-old driver directly in the eyes.
As shown in the viral video, the driver tries to get out of the cabin but finds it difficult as he is wearing a seat belt but somehow manages to get out of the car.
The video shared on social media X by @Tr00peRR, comes with a caption that profoundly reads: ‘Woman randomly throws pepper spray at Uber driver ‘because he’s dark-skinned.’
The entire incident caught on camera has shocked the entire city of New York and the entire world.
Police quickly arrived at the scene and arrested Guilbeault on charges of third-degree assault. Despite the seriousness of the crime, she was released on a summons to appear before a judge, raising concerns about the legal system’s handling of such cases.

Although the investigation is still pending, allegations of racially motivated assault have surfaced. Social media users have pointed out the driver’s ethnicity, fueling speculation about a possible hate crime. However, authorities have yet to confirm a motive.
One user said: “That girl is trash and should be kicked out of society.” Another user wrote: “It’s okay… she’s a white woman… she’ll cry and everyone will forgive her and act like it’s not her fault…”
Uber condemned the woman’s actions and permanently banned her from using its platform. The company pledged to fully cooperate with the police investigation.
The Taxi and Limousine Commission has also expressed outrage, stressing the intolerable nature of violence against drivers simply trying to make a living.
