A bench of Justice Hemant Chandangoudar heard the writ petition filed by the chief minister on an urgent basis and posted the case for further hearing on August 29.
Petitioner Siddaramaiah, in his petition, has said that the sanction order granted by the Governor of karnataka It is tainted and is part of a concerted effort to destabilise the duly elected government in Karnataka for political reasons, senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi said during the hearing.
Previously, the Governor of Karnataka has granted permission to prosecute Siddaramaiah in connection with this scam, adding significant pressure on him.

The alleged MUDA scam involves the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), where a less valuable plot in a remote area has reportedly been exchanged for a prime plot.
The case is related to the allotment of an alternative plot to CM Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvathi in the upmarket city of Mysuru. It is alleged that three acres and 16 guntas of remote land was acquired illegally.
The irregularities were first reported by whistleblower Snehamayi Krishna, who alleged that MUDA created fake documents to secure land worth millions of rupees. Opposition parties have seized on these allegations to claim that the land, valued at Rs 3,000 crore, originally belonged to the Dalit community.
How Siddaramaiah responded to the allegations
In response, Siddaramaiah has denied all charges and claimed that all actions were carried out in a legal manner. He claimed that MUDA had illegally developed a layout on four acres of land owned by Parvathi in Kesarur, Mysuru, which he claimed led to the current controversy.
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi The Governor has called for Siddaramaiah’s resignation, saying, “After taking into consideration all aspects and the opinion of legal experts, the Governor has given his approval for the prosecution of CM Siddaramaiah. It is a legal process. CM Siddaramaiah should cooperate with the investigating agencies and the judiciary. He should resign as Chief Minister.”
Amidst these developments, Siddaramaiah has said that he has the support of the entire state Cabinet. “The entire Cabinet, the party high command, all local MPs, Lok Sabha MPs, Rajya Sabha MPs are with me…” he said.
