Nawab Singh Yadav, a prominent Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and a former close aide of Akhilesh Yadav’s wife Dimple Yadav, has been arrested in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh. The arrest comes following serious allegations of attempted rape of a minor, which has sparked a fresh controversy in the party.
According to reports, Nawab Singh had called the minor girl and her aunt promising to offer them a job. Once they arrived, Nawab Singh allegedly tried to sexually assault the minor girl. However, the girl managed to save herself by quickly contacting the Uttar Pradesh Police helpline, 112, and reporting the incident.
Following the girl’s alert, the police acted swiftly and arrested Nawab Singh Yadav. A case was lodged on the complaint filed by the victim’s mother. The minor underwent a medical examination and her statement was noted by the authorities. The victim levelled serious allegations against the SP leader, which has further escalated the case.
