Over 1,000 police officers raid near SRM College in Chennai
In a massive drug raid near Chennai‘s SRM CollegeTambaram police Several grams of Ganja and Hookah paraphernalia have been recovered. More than 1000 police personnel raided around 500 residences near SRM College in Kattankulathur. According to reports and statements from locals studentsMore than 50 students from SRM school are detained by the police for questioning.
During the raid, the police also arrested a drug peddler, Selvamani, who was carrying two kilos of ganja and four knives. Local police sources claim that he used to supply ganja to students. The special operation was carried out along with the deputy commissioners of Tambaram, Pallikaranai and the traffic wing of ‘Abode Valley’.
Local reports suggest that police have seized 500 grams of ganja, six ganja chocolates, 20 ml of ganja oil, five bhaang, one smoking marijuana, seven hookah machines and 6 kg of shisha (hookah powder).
The detained students were taken to a private room for questioning and an investigation is underway. This is said to be the longest drug raid in the area.
Students near the area are sharing photos and videos on social media showing the massive search conducted by police.
