In a press release, the Ministry of Home Affairs added that the exam will be held from February 20 to March 7, 2024 for around 48 lakh candidates in 128 cities across the country.

The question papers for the Police Constable (General Service) examination will now be written in 13 regional languages, apart from Hindi and English. The regional languages ​​include Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, Urdu, Punjabi, Manipuri and Konkani.

The Constable GD exam is one of the flagship exams conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (CSC-Spanish:) attracting hundreds of thousands of young people from all over the country.

“The decision will enable hundreds of thousands of young people to take the exam in their native or regional language and will improve their selection prospects. As a result, the scope of this exam will increase among candidates across the country and everyone will have equal employment opportunities,” the government said in the statement.

“With this initiative of the Central Government, young people from all over the country have a golden opportunity to participate in the examination of Constable (General Duty) in the Central Police Armed Forces conducted by the Personnel Selection Commission in their mother tongue and make a career in the service of the Nation.”
