Stocks under ban: F&O ban list: Hindustan Copper, Balrampur Chini among 7 stocks under trading ban on Monday

Seven stocks are under F&O trade ban on Monday, namely: Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail (ABFRL) Balrampur Chini, Bandhan Bank, Biocon, Chambal Fertilizers & Chemicals, Hindustan Copper and RBL Bank.

Futures and options contracts on any stock enter the ban period when open interest (OI) on them exceeds 95% of the market-wide position limits, or MWPL. The ban is reversed only if open interest falls below 80%.

Traders who trade indices do not face a securities ban situation.

ABFRL’s MWPL stood at 91.5% on Friday, with Trendlyne-reported OI at 54.8 million. It was 2.2% lower than the previous session.

The MWPL for Balrampur Chini stood at 97.4% on Friday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 9.2 million. It was 4.1% lower than the previous session. The MWPL for Bandhan Bank stood at 90.4% on Friday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 113.2 million. It was 6.5% lower than the previous session. For Biocon, the MWPL stood at 90% on Friday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 43.6 million. It was 7.3% lower than the previous session. The MWPL for Chambal Fertilizers stood at 96% on Friday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 12.1 million. It was 9.3% lower than the previous session.

Hindustan Copper reported that MWPL on Friday was 90% and OI, according to Trendlyne, was 36.3 million. The figure was down 2.2% from the previous session.

RBL Bank’s MWPL stood at 90.8% on Friday, with Trendlyne-reported OI at 77.7 million. It was 4.7% lower than the previous session.

Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty fell into negative territory on Friday as investors remained cautious awaiting a key US jobs report, which could influence the Federal Reserve’s decisions on the pace and magnitude of interest rate cuts. Broad-based selling was seen across sectors.

Meanwhile, the 50-component Nifty 50 index Sensex closed nearly 1.2 per cent lower. The former closed 293 points lower at 24,852, while the latter was down 1,017 points at 81,184.
