The winners of the 51st Korean Broadcasting Awards finally received their well-deserved trophies on Monday, September 2 at the KBS TV Open Hall in SeoulSouth Korea.
Although South Korean media outlets revealed the names of the individual recipients of this year’s prestigious ceremony a month ago, the live ceremony once again put the spotlight on the winners for their contribution to drama and variety shows.
In addition to the winners who took the stage, Korean artists STAYC, CEROBASEONELee Eun Mi and HYB were also present as artists of the night.
Occult thriller series Reborn Actor Kim Tae Ri was a particular winner at the event, taking home the Best Actor award. The SBS television show K-dramaalso starring Oh Jung Se, aired in June and July of last year. Even though it has been over a year since its original broadcast, the series starring Kim Tae Ri has garnered its share of fans.
In her acceptance speech, the 34-year-old K-drama star expressed her gratitude to the show’s directors, Kim Jae Hong and Lee Jung Rim, and writer Kim Eun Hee for creating such a grounded character like Goo San Young.
“Characters in dramas always seem to have some kind of question about how to live. The character I played, San Young, is someone who stands up despite everything. I am deeply grateful to the director and screenwriter who created such a character and for the opportunity to play her.”
Next to RebornMBC My dear, Starring Namkoong Min and Ahn Eun Jin, it was also another big K-drama winner at the event.

- Best variety: Golden Girls ((KBS); Adventure by accident 2 (MBC)
- Best Producer: Kim Ji Woo for Adventure by accident Season 2 and 3
- Best Variety Star: Kwak Joon Bin for Taxi ride to Kwak
- Best singer: Stray children for Musical core (MBC) and the MBC Music Festival
