The craze for ‘Stree 2’, the sequel of ‘Stree’ released in the year 2018, had reached the audience even before its release. There was a huge advance booking of the film and the movie collected over Rs 20 crore in advance ticket sales on the first day. After the movie hit the theatres, a huge crowd of moviegoers gathered to watch it and it had a grand opening.
Talking about the first day earnings of ‘Stree 2’, as per the initial trend report by Saknilk, the Shraddha Kapoor film earned Rs 8.35 crore in paid preview on Wednesday and Rs 46 crore after its theatrical release on Thursday. With this, the total first day collection of ‘Stree 2’ has become Rs 54.3 crore. In such a situation, among all the films released on August 15, ‘Stree 2’ has bagged the no.1 position in terms of earnings.
The film ‘Tanglan’, made under the direction of P Ranjith, also hit the theatres on the occasion of Independence Day. This is a period drama film in which Chiyaan Vikram has played an important role. This film was the most anticipated film of the year 2024. The film has had a good opening. According to Sacknilk’s initial trend report, ‘Tanglaan’ collected Rs 12.6 crore on the first day of its release.

While the horror comedy film starring Shraddha Cooper dominated the box office, Veda remained second in terms of earnings among Hindi-released films.
Talking about the opening day collection of ‘Veda’, as per Sacknilk’s initial trend report, this John Abraham film earned Rs 6.52 crore on the first day of its release.
Akshay Kumar’s ‘Khel Khel Mein’ lagged behind among Hindi films released on August 15. Though this comedy film is being highly praised, in terms of earnings, ‘Khel Khel Mein’ fell behind ‘Stree 2’ and ‘Veda’. Talking about the collection of ‘Khel Khel Mein’, as per Sacanilc’s initial trend report, this film starring Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan and Ammy Virk among many actors earned Rs 5 crore on the first day of its release.
‘Mr Bachchan’ is also included in the South films that are releasing on August 15. Ravi Teja has played the lead role in this film made under the direction of Harish Shankar. As per Sacknilk’s report, ‘Mr. Bachchan’ opened with Rs 5.3 crore amid the huge crash.
The sequel to Demonte Colony, Demonte Colony 2, also released on August 15. This film earned Rs 3.3 crore on the first day.
Vaazha’s biopic about a billion children is also a film that is releasing on August 15. This film collected Rs 1.15 crore on the first day.
South’s comedy film Nunakuzhi is also set to hit the theatres on August 15. Basil Joseph and Grace Antony are playing the lead roles in the film. The film earned Rs 1.7 crore on the first day of its release.
