The US Mission in India has recently announced the opening of 250,000 additional visa appointments for Indian travelers, including tourists, skilled workers and students, thus helping several aspirants get a little closer to their dream of pursuing a course of their election in the United States.

The new seats will help hundreds of thousands of Indian applicants conduct timely interviews and facilitate their travel. Not only this, students who wish to move to the US for academic reasons will also have enough time to apply for visas and conduct interviews easily, allowing them to plan their trip systematically.

It is worth mentioning here that student visas remain the top priority for the US mission to India. This official website states that student visas were processed in record numbers this summer and that all students applying for visas for the first time were able to get an appointment at one of India’s five consular sections.

Notably, the latest move is in line with the people-to-people ties that underpin the US-India relationship, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden, who together have set the goal of improving and speed up the visa process.
