Zomato Rival Beater has appointed Amitesh Jha as the new CEO of its fast commerce division, Swiggy convenience storeeffective from September 4, 2024.
Jha, who brings over 20 years of experience in the e-commerce industry, will succeed Phani Kishan, current CEO of Swiggy Instamart.
Kishan will take on a broader role within the company, focusing on Swiggy’s core growth unit. The leadership change is aimed at strengthening the company’s position in the fast-growing fast-commerce market.
Jha’s extensive experience at Flipkart
Amitesh Jha joins Swiggy after a successful 14-year career in Flipkartwhere it played a key role in scaling key categories such as electronics, fashion and major appliances.
He also oversaw Flipkart’s logistics division, contributing to the company’s rapid growth across India. Jha’s extensive experience in e-commerce and supply chain management is expected to boost Swiggy Instamart’s operations and competitiveness in the market.
