Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin visits US offices of Apple, Google and Microsoft, explores partnerships

The DMK leader also explored the scope of Tamil Nadu’s investment and partnerships with tech giants.

Addressing X, Stalin wrote: “An inspiring visit to the offices of AppleGoogle and Microsoft. We are looking at a number of interesting opportunities and partnerships. We are determined to strengthen these partnerships and make Tamil Nadu one of the key growth engines in Asia.”

Stalin is aiming to drum up support and attract investments to the state to boost its economic development. During his visit, Stalin is in touch with leading US-based companies to explore possible investment opportunities in Tamil Nadu.

TN secures Rs 900 crore investment

On Friday, the Chief Minister tweeted that on the first day of his visit, the state had secured investments of over Rs 900 crore in Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai and Chengalpattu, paving the way for 4,100 new jobs across multiple sectors.

In his post on X, Stalin mentioned which company will provide how many jobs in the state. He tweeted, “Nokia: Rs 450 crore, 100 jobs; PayPal: 1,000 jobs; Yield Engineering Systems: Rs 150 crore, 300 jobs; Microchip: Rs 250 crore, 1,500 jobs; Infinx: Rs 050 crore, 700 jobs; Applied Materials: 500 jobs.”

“With two more weeks ahead, we continue to build on this momentum and attract more investors to Tamil Nadu, furthering our march towards a trillion-dollar economy,” he wrote.

Speaking at the San Francisco Investment Conclave on the first day of his visit, the CM underlined the state’s economic progress, including its status as the second largest economic state in India, its high rate of urbanization and notable achievements in education.

The Tamil Nadu government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with several investors, including Nokia, PayPal, Microchip and Yield Engineering Systems, during the CM’s visit to the US.
