Tata Motors’ Shailesh Chandra takes over as SIAM Chairman

The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the automotive industry body, on Tuesday said it has elected Tata Motors’ passenger vehicles managing director Shailesh Chandra as its new president for the period 2024-2025.

Chandra, who previously served as vice president of SIAM, succeeds Vinod Aggarwal, managing director and CEO of Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV), SIAM said in a statement.

The new officials were elected during the executive committee meeting held today (Tuesday), he added.

Ashok Leyland MD and CEO Shenu Agarwal has been elected as Vice Chairman of SIAM for 2024-2025.

Satyakam Arya, CEO and Managing Director, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, was also elected as Treasurer.
