Tata Power division partners with Tata Motors to install 200 fast charging stations for electric vehicles

Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Ltd on Thursday (September 12) said it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tata Motors Ltd to set up 200 fast charging stations for electric commercial vehicles in metropolitan cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru and Kolkata.

Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Ltd is a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd, which is a subsidiary of Tata Power. The initiative aims to provide easy and affordable charging options for small electric commercial vehicles, thereby supporting the growth of EV adoption in urban centres.

Tata Motors and Tata Power will offer exclusive charging tariffs to Tata Motors electric commercial vehicle owners, leading to reduced operational costs and improved profitability. This strategic move expands their ongoing collaboration to provide sustainable mobility solutions, with a focus on easy charging solutions for small electric commercial vehicles.

Vinay Pathak, Vice President and Business Head, SCV&PU, Tata Motors, said, “We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with Tata Power to transform the electric commercial vehicle landscape by ensuring easy access to fast chargers at convenient locations across the country.”

Tata Power has expanded its network under the EZ Charge brand to over 100,000 home chargers, over 5,500 public, semi-public and fleet charging points along with over 1,100 bus charging stations across 530 cities and towns.

Deepesh Nanda, CEO and MD, Tata Power Renewable Energy, said, “With one of the largest EV charging networks in the country, Tata Power has been helping EV owners through its reliable and affordable charging solutions across the country.”

“We are already present in various segments, such as public, semi-public, bus/fleet and domestic chargers, and we are expanding into the commercial vehicle charging segment, offering integrated EV charging solutions,” he added.

Tata Motors Ltd shares closed at ₹986.05, up ₹10.05, or 1.03%, on the BSE.
