Muthuswami, who was appointed as president of TCS’s US and Canada business in March 2022, resigned three months ago after serving his notice period and his last day was August 9.
Two weeks ago, Muthuswami posted on LinkedIn: “As I prepare to close this chapter of my career at TCS, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey I have had over the past 26 years.”
Muthuswami has decided to quit to pursue opportunities abroad, a person close to the development said without revealing his next project.
In a statement, TCS said: “We can confirm that Suresh Muthuswami has decided to leave TCS after a career spanning 26 years. We wish him all the best.”
TCS promoted Muthuswami as President of the North America region in April 2022 after his predecessor and TCS veteran Surya Kant retired.

According to the aforementioned person, “North America was the only geography in TCS that had a president. And the president’s role had more macro responsibilities across finance, HR and legal functions with a more administrative role. Now, TCS plans to continue with the president’s role across all regions.” Muthuswami’s roles will now be overseen by amit bajajpresident of the North America region.
