Teachers’ Day 2024: From PM Modi to Kharge, many wishes for educators | Education

On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, Prime Minister Modi extended his best wishes to all teachers in the country and highlighted their contribution to a developed and self-reliant India.

“The country is moving rapidly towards educational reforms involving students and teachers. On this path of development, teachers are being strengthened through all means,” said Prime Minister Modi in his official message.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee lauded the teaching community on the occasion of Teachers’ Day and described them as the “backbone of society”. Governor CV Ananda Bose also extended his wishes to the teachers on the occasion.

On the eve of Teachers’ Day, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, in an open letter, urged teachers to teach students about the Constitution and be vigilant against the “attack” on the ideal of “unity in diversity”.

Kharge appealed to teachers across the country to educate their students about “the Constitution of India and its values, and the importance of the Preamble of our Constitution.” Kharge also urged educators to impart knowledge about India’s diversity and to be alert to any attack on India’s unity in diversity. He added that addressing attempts to distort or misrepresent history is crucial to the service of the nation.

“Children should be warned against attacking the idea of ​​India’s unity in diversity. Moreover, their efforts to educate future generations about attempts to distort and misrepresent history in the current times will go a long way in serving the nation,” Kharge said.

“Gurus as teachers have been revered and revered in our culture since ancient times because they are the true builders of the nation,” he added.
