Ted Lasso Reportedly Considering Season 4 Return With Three Main Original Cast Members | Web Series

Good news for Ted Lasso Fans! Apple TV+’s sports drama show is considering getting the green light for a fourth season, Deadline reported. Warner Bros. Television has tapped three of the original main cast members as the returning actors. Once the studio secures the trio, it will extend new deals to cast members with expiring SAG-AFTRA contracts.

The production company has signed Hannah Waddingham, who plays AFC Richmond owner Rebecca Walton, Brett Goldstein, who plays the tough Roy Kent, and Jeremy Swift, who plays football operations director Leslie Higgins. All three are members of Equity, the UK’s actors’ union.

The media adds that Jason Sudeikis, Sudeikis, who plays the title character, is involved in the series revival as an executive producer, along with Brendan Hunt, who plays Coach Beard, and Juno Temple (Keeley Jones). Sudeikis originally envisioned the show as a three-season comedy, but hasn’t closed the door on future possibilities.

Despite being open to extending Ted Lasso, the showrunners have left the decision entirely up to Sudeikis. Talks about a possible fourth season began shortly after the conclusion of season 3. Since it wasn’t called the final one, rumors about season 4 quickly began to spread, with cast members admitting they’d be happy to reprise their roles.

Earlier this year, Warner Bros. TV CEO Channing Dungey hinted at the possibility of a fourth season of Ted Lasso. “I mean, you saw the finale, there’s a little door that could be flung open if needed,” Dungey told Variety in January.

“I wouldn’t put the full stop on that sentence just yet. There’s still a lot of love for Ted Lasso. And I think there’s still a lot of enthusiasm on Apple’s part for Ted Lasso,” Dungey continued, adding, “If the opportunity arises, we’d be excited to start doing more again… There are always conversations going on, but nothing that’s official.”
