The Mahindra Thar.E is similar to the concept model unveiled in South Africa earlier this year. It gets a new grille with square LED DRLs, three-slot insert and Thar.E badging, new front and rear bumpers, dual-tone aero wheels, chunky fender flares and wheel arches, blacked-out D-pillar and tailgate-mounted spare wheel.

Inside, Mahindra’s upcoming electric SUV is expected to feature a fully digital instrument cluster, a stand-alone touchscreen infotainment system, an aircraft-style gear-knob, a rotary dial for drive modes, and a flat-bottomed, two-spoke multifunction steering wheel with touch controls… with any luck.

Mahindra has not revealed the specifications of the Thar.e, except that it will be based on the brand’s INGLO-P1 EV architecture. The model is said to be powered by a 60 kWh battery, paired with a motor on each axle, the latter offering 4WD function. Its range is expected to be 500 kilometres on a single charge.
What will be the price of the electric Thar?
Thar.e is set to launch in India in March 2026. It is expected to be launched in the expected price range of Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000 lakh.
