Citroën Basalt
This was definitely the month of the Sportback, as the Citroen Basalt is also set to be launched in August 2024, with prices starting at Rs 7.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The Citroen Basalt is based on the C3 and features sportback styling, while being powered by either a naturally aspirated petrol engine or a turbocharged petrol engine. The latter gets an optional automatic gearbox.
Tata Curves
The next big launch was the Tata Curve, a sports-backed mid-size SUV, based on a concept showcased earlier by Tata. The Tata Curve competes in a highly competitive segment, led by the Hyundai Creta. However, Tata has an idea and unlike the Creta, which only has ICE options, the Curve is available in petrol, diesel and all-electric versions. Mahindra Thar Roxx
Mahindra Thar Roxx, which was spotted testing for several months ahead of its launch on August 15. The Mahindra Thar Rocks is a larger version of the three-door Thar and is a very premium offering. The Thar Rocks is available in two states of tune with petrol and diesel engine options, though there are 4WD versions as well. Prices of the Thar Rocks start at Rs 12.99 lakh, ex-showroom.
Citroën C3
Shortly after launching the Basalt, the French carmaker launched the updated C3, the price of which starts at Rs 6.16 lakh. The new C3 gets additional features and the much-awaited automatic gearbox with its turbocharged petrol engine. The Citroen C3 competes with cars like the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Tata Punch and Hyundai Exeter.
Nissan X-Trail
And our last pick is the Nissan X-Trail. The ex-showroom price of this large SUV is Rs 49.92 lakh and it competes with cars like the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster and Skoda Kodiaq. Enthusiasts are excited about the return of the It has a three-cylinder engine.
