The trailer of The Buckingham Murders has finally released after a long wait. The mystery thriller directed by Hansal Mehta and starring Kareena Kapoor Khan is creating a buzz on social media. Now that the trailer has been released today, the excitement has increased even more.
The film is set to release on September 13. Ranveer Brar, Keith Allen and Ash Tandon star in this thriller. It is written by Kashyap Kapoor, Aseem Arrora and Raghav Raj Kakker. Kareena is making her debut as a producer with this film, which is also backed by Balaji Telefilms and TBM Films alongside Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa Kapoor.

The film, set in the UK and starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, has similarities to the popular HBO series Mare of Easttown, starring Kate Winslet. Jasmeet Bamra, a British-Indian detective, is the protagonist of the film. She is assigned to the case of a 10-year-old boy who was murdered.
The detective is also going through great grief as her own son has also died. She is also caught between a rock and a hard place as the arrest of a young Muslim man is raising communal tensions. As Jasmeet begins her investigation, the skeletons of the community come to light. Most of the film is in English, denoting a departure from Bollywood standards, as does its direct perception of religious discord.
What does Kareens Kapoor have to say about ‘The Buckingham Murders’?
Kareena Kapoor said about the film, “I think I loved playing that role because it’s the first time I’m playing a detective and I’m a big fan of cop dramas.” While the actress admitted that playing the role was difficult as the character’s pain made her uncomfortable, she also found it very joyful to play the role.
She further added, “It’s a career-defining role for me and one of my best characters.” Kareena stated that she requested the director to create a four-part series because she couldn’t let go of the character.
The film debuted at last year’s BFI London Film Festival and will have a restricted theatrical release before appearing on Netflix.
