ranchi: To save the lives of those injured in road accidents, the Central Government is introducing a cashless treatment scheme. The pilot scheme has been successfully run in Assam and Chandigarh. It is estimated that this scheme is ready to be implemented across the country including Jharkhand by mid-September. In this context, Anurag, Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, held a meeting with officials of other states including Jharkhand on September 6 through video conferencing.
Central government to give Rs 1.5 lakh for cashless treatment
Cashless treatment scheme (Cashless Treatment Scheme) In the first phase, Rs 1.5 lakh will be provided to specialised hospitals under Ayushman Yojana for treatment of the injured during the golden hour (treatment starts within an hour). So that the hospital cannot refuse to treat the injured due to lack of money. Due to timely treatment, lives can be saved. The central government will provide Rs 1.5 lakh per injured person for cashless treatment for seven days.
A state-level cashless funding plan will be created
A cashless fund may be created for this scheme at the state level as well. The scheme will be implemented through an IT platform. All victims requiring trauma and polytrauma care due to road accidents caused by motor vehicles on any road category will be eligible for this scheme. It is significant that Jharkhand On average, between 10 and 11 people die in traffic accidents every day.
The police will have to report the accident to the hospital within three hours.
If a person meets with a road accident anywhere, anyone can admit him/her to the hospital. After admission, the hospital will start treatment immediately. The hospital will immediately inform the police station and the SP of the district where the person was injured in the accident. Within three hours, the police will have to inform that the person concerned has been injured in a road accident. Based on this report, the hospital will be able to receive money for the treatment of the injured through a cashless treatment scheme.
The amount will be recovered from the third-party insurance of the damaged vehicle.
The money spent on the treatment of the injured will be recovered from the third party insurance of the vehicles responsible for the road accident. That money will be deposited into the cashless treatment scheme. Further action will be taken once the police investigation into this road accident is over. Even if an unknown vehicle causes the incident, the injured will be able to benefit from the cashless treatment scheme. If the vehicle does not have third party insurance, further action may be taken against the owner of that vehicle after a police investigation.
If the police arrive, the accident report will be delivered to the hospital at the same time.
If the police admit a person to the hospital after being injured in a traffic accident, they will report the accident to the hospital at the same time. On this basis, under the cashless treatment scheme, the hospital will treat the patient for the next week.
