Kolkata doctor murder case : Health services at government hospitals were severely affected due to the protest by junior doctors on Tuesday for the 12th day against the rape and murder of a woman doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Long queues of patients were seen at several government hospitals in West Bengal where senior doctors and assistant professors were treating patients at OPDs.

People demonstrated in Shyambazar

This evening, a crowd of protesters gathered at Shyambazar in North Kolkata. Thousands of people took to the streets to protest the incident. The protesters expressed their protest by turning on the flash of their mobile phones. On Tuesday, the parents of the victim asked the agitators to continue their agitation till justice is obtained. He said he was confident that justice would be done. He will not comment on judicial matters. He said he is with all those who are fighting for justice. He prays to the people of the state as well as the country to continue fighting like this till justice is obtained.

What do the protesting doctors say?

One of the protesting doctors at the government hospital said that the protest will continue till our sister gets justice. We also want security at workplaces. Our main demand is to punish the culprits. Since the incident, doctors across the country are protesting demanding justice for the family of the deceased and enacting a law to improve security at workplaces. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) took over the investigation of the case from the Kolkata Police following the Calcutta High Court’s order last week.

Welcome to the Supreme Court decision

At the same time, junior doctors in the state welcomed Tuesday’s Supreme Court decision on the RG Kar hospital scandal. However, he said that no decision has yet been taken on returning to work. A meeting will be held on the matter and only then a decision will be taken.
