Following the instructions of the Election Commission of India, a meeting of Members of Parliament and other public representatives was held at the Collegium Hall under the chairmanship of DM Yashpal Meena to discuss the list of polling stations released under the rationalisation of polling stations.
Many public representatives including Hajipur MLA Awadhesh Singh and Vaishali MLA Siddharth Patel were present in the meeting. It was informed in the meeting that at present the total number of polling stations is 2,559. 132 new polling stations are proposed in the draft. Thus, the total proposed number of polling stations in Vaishali district is 2,691. It was said that 123 in Hajipur assembly constituency, 13,124 in Lalganj assembly constituency, 17,125 in Vaishali assembly constituency, 16,126 in Mahua assembly constituency, 11,127 in Rajapakar assembly constituency, 15,128 in Raghopur assembly constituency, 13,129 in Mehnar assembly constituency, 18 and 130 in Patepur assembly constituency, 29 new polling stations are proposed to be set up. It was also informed that in polling stations where there are more than 1,400 voters, rationalisation has been done. In the meeting, DM said that if there is any objection or complaint, it can be given in writing till September 17. Subsequently, a meeting with public representatives will be held again between September 26 and 28. He said that polling stations and voters list are important for any election. Therefore, seriousness, awareness and participation of public representatives are necessary in their construction. He said that representatives of their political parties should activate the BLA. ADM, Deputy Election Officer, all SDMs, all DCLRs, DPROs, etc. were present in the meeting.
