The mortal remains of former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique were brought out from his residence in Bandra for the state funeral procession on Sunday.

The last rites of NCP leader Siddique will be held with full honor of the state at Bada Qabrastan on Mumbai lines.

Former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique suffered two gunshot wounds in the chest before being rushed to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital for emergency treatment, where he died on Saturday night.

After being shot, Baba Siddique was admitted around 9:30 pm on Saturday and, despite intensive resuscitation efforts, succumbed to his injuries shortly afterwards. Dr Jalil Parkar, doctor at Lilavati Hospital, said: “Around 9:30 pm, Baba Siddique was brought here. When he reached the emergency room, his pulse and blood pressure were not recordable, and the ECG showed a flat line. We moved it to the ICU.”

Meanwhile, the Esplanade court in Mumbai sent Gurmail Singh, accused in the Baba Siddique dismissal case, to the custody of the Mumbai Crime Branch till Sunday, October 21.

Following the incident, the Mumbai Police arrested two accused, Gurmail Singh, originally from Haryana, and Dharamraj Kashyap from Uttar Pradesh, in connection with the case.

The Mumbai Police today produced the two accused in the Baba Siddique dismissal case, Gurmail Singh and Dharmraj Singh Kashyap, at the Esplanade Court in Mumbai. The Esplanade court has also ordered the second accused to be presented again after carrying out the ossification test.
