The mystery of Baba Siddiqui’s murder deepens and a complex web of clues and suspects comes to light

Baba Siddiqui Murder Mystery: NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) leader Baba Siddiqui was shot dead by three assailants on Saturday night. Two of the three attackers have been arrested, while the third remains at large. The Mumbai Police is investigating the incident, but the mystery of the murder is getting deeper and deeper. On Sunday, the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for this murder. Lawrence Bishnoi is the same gangster who took responsibility for the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala.

There is more to Baba Siddiqui’s murder than meets the eye. He allegedly had links with global terrorist Dawood Ibrahim’s ‘D Company’. Some media reports also claim that NCP politicians became the link between the underworld and Bollywood during the period of declining ‘D Company’ control of the city after the mid-1990s.

Film critic Kamal R., known professionally as KRK. Khan made a post on X after Baba’s murder. He has written that ‘Company D’ threatened Baba Siddiqui in 2013 and asked him to vacate a property. He pointed to the case in which an alleged associate of underworld don Chhota Shakeel and a businessman were arrested under the MCOCA for threatening Congress MLA Baba Siddiqui in 2013. This was the same year when Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan are friends again after a five-year standoff at an Iftar party hosted by Baba Siddiqui.

At that time Baba Siddiqui had officially lodged a police complaint and was also given police protection. The politician reportedly continued to illegally seize properties even after this case. KRK stated: “D Company could have eliminated it for two reasons. The first is that he was not giving up some properties and the second is to prove that Company D can still eliminate anyone in Mumbai.”

This notorious murder in Mumbai, the country’s financial capital, has raised questions about the law and order situation at a time when assembly elections are due to be held in Maharashtra in a month or two. Baba Siddiqui’s murder also highlights the growing power struggle between two different groups, D Company and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, whose bosses are based far from the city of Mumbai.
