Madhya Pradesh News: 10 Rajya Sabha MPs will be elected from different states of the country. The process of filing nominations for a vacant Rajya Sabha seat from Madhya Pradesh has also started from today. The last date to file nomination is August 21. After this, the scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on August 22. The last date to withdraw nomination is August 26.
Voting will take place on September 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan said that if required, polling will be held on September 3 from 9 am to 4 pm and the result will be declared on the same day. Let us tell you that BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia had resigned as a Rajya Sabha member after winning the Lok Sabha elections, following which this seat fell vacant.

Rajya Sabha members are elected by the MLAs. The BJP has a good hold in Madhya Pradesh; if the polling is held, the BJP is expected to win easily. Though the BJP has not yet announced the candidate for this seat, it is expected that the BJP may make KP Yadav the Rajya Sabha candidate. There are 163 BJP MLAs in the Legislative Assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh. There are 64 Congress MLAs and one Bharatiya Adivasi Party MLA and 2 seats are vacant.
