The promise of no-code platforms. For Hubler’s Vinay Agrrawal, it’s a powerful tool

Vinay Agrrawal is a big believer in no-code platforms. Agrrawal, the founder of the no-code platform Hublerbelieves in the potential of no-code platforms is substantial, allowing for rapid development and evolution of applications without the need for developers.

“These platforms have proven effective in automating workflows, managing large-scale data processing, ensuring security, supporting B2B business needs, and integrating with existing enterprise software such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)“There are some cases where custom development might be a better fit due to unique business requirements or the nature of your existing technology stack. But, for most companies, no-code is mature enough to solve most business needs,” says Agrrawal.

In fact, he argues that many of the supposed limitations of no-code are myths and do not stand up to scrutiny. “I can safely say that we have built software for clients that is typically solved by long-term ERP implementations that cost five times as much as we do,” Agrrawal says.

No-code platforms have been around for some time, but they haven’t been very popular. So what limits their appeal? Agrrawal says the limited popularity of no-code platforms in the past was due to misconceptions and myths about their capabilities. Concerns about supporting complex workflows, handling large-scale data, security, high performance, scalability, and long-term viability contributed to the reluctance to adopt these solutions.

“But that is no longer the case. Modern no-code platforms have addressed these concerns, making them increasingly attractive to businesses. With incredible flexibility, strong security measures, and scalability, no-code platforms have already gained ground as the first choice for software development and solutions for both technical and non-technical users,” he says.


From Unicel to Hubler
Agrrawal’s entrepreneurial roots were first planted with Unicel Technologiesa company he co-founded that introduced the VN platform for missed call alerts and mobile banking OTPs. “Unicel was very successful, but behind the scenes, we were navigating chaos. We were running our operations manually using spreadsheets, emails, and chat messages, which limited our ability to scale,” says Agrrawal. The experience at Unicel became a defining moment for him. It made him realize the critical need for scalable, technology-driven solutions to streamline business processes.

This recognition led to the founding of Hubler in 2016. “My motivation to become an entrepreneur was deeply rooted in my passion for solving business problems. I saw that there was a better way to organize chaos, and technology had to be at the center of it,” he adds.

No-code platforms allow businesses to develop applications quickly without the need for traditional coding. However, Hubler goes a step further by offering custom solutions for companies looking to streamline complex business processes.

Agrrawal explains: “At Unicel, we tried to implement ready-made applications and outsource work, but nothing suited our needs. Hubler was born to address that very problem: to offer companies a no-code platform where they could create and deploy solutions specific to their workflows without writing any code.” The no-code approach allows companies to take control of their processes and drive efficiency without relying too much on programming teams.

Solving real-world problems
Hubler serves companies that are outgrowing their capabilities. ERP systems or are hesitant to make large investments in traditional ERP systems. “We often speak with CIOs who struggle with the limitations of their existing ERP systems and are surprised to learn that Hubler can address critical gaps in their processes in a fraction of the time and cost,” Agrrawal explains.

For example, says Agrrawal, GIVA Jewellery, a modern D2C jewellery brand with over 50 retail stores, was facing challenges in managing multi-unit operations, franchise growth and new store openings. Hubler’s retail software enabled GIVA to automate lease management, improve communication with landlords and seamlessly scale franchise operations.

Agrrawal adds that Hubler is designed to address a range of business problems, from improving operational efficiency and procurement to automating financial processes and improving internal collaboration. “We have created a solution where companies can start seeing value in as little as a month, compared to traditional ERP models,” Agrrawal explains.

Highlighting
While no-code platforms like Glide, Kissflow, and Quickbase have been gaining traction, Hubler differentiates itself with its focus on enterprise-grade solutions and expertise in key industries. “Our differentiation is threefold. First, we are hyper-focused on industries like retail, D2C, telecom, and manufacturing supply chains. Second, we own our deployments and provide top-notch support. Third, our expertise in operations, procurement, and finance ensures that our platform not only meets the needs of businesses but also helps cross-functional teams collaborate effectively,” says Agrrawal.

Hubler says it has a software library of more than 100 pre-built applications, allowing companies to quickly deploy custom solutions that are 80% pre-built and customizable. Agrrawal notes that Hubler can configure and deploy solutions for customers in as little as one week, providing flexibility and rapid scalability.

Challenges and achievements
The road to creating Hubler has not been without its challenges. “There are still many leaders who believe that no-code is not for them and that expansion requires large investments in ERP. Changing that mindset will take time and training,” says Agrrawal. Despite these challenges, Hubler has grown rapidly since its inception and has achieved important milestones along the way.

Since 2016, Hubler has raised $1.5 million in seed funding, landed its first international customer in 2023, and launched new software offerings along with a new user interface in 2024. The company claims a 90% customer retention rate and has signed international partnerships to fuel its global expansion. “These milestones demonstrate our financial strength, strategic agility, and commitment to innovation,” Agrrawal adds.

Hubler’s growth strategy includes expanding into international markets and enhancing its no-code platform to stay ahead of changing market demands. “We are improving our user experience and integrating cutting-edge technologies like AI to accelerate deployment,” says Agrrawal. The company is eyeing rapid expansion across India as it targets global markets, particularly for operations and procurement solutions in the retail, manufacturing and telecom sectors.
