The train will depart from Rourkela station at 1.40 pm and reach Chakradharpur at 3.55 pm, Tatanagar at 4.55 pm, Kharagpur at 5.58 pm and Howrah at 7.40 pm. Similarly, it will depart from Howrah station at 6 am and reach Rourkela at 11.50 am. It will depart from Howrah at 6 am and reach Kharagpur at 7.30 am, Tatanagar at 9.15 am and Chakradharpur at 10.08 am. The train will take 5 hours 50 minutes to cover the distance of 413 km between Howrah and Rourkela. It will have five stations, Howrah, Kharagpur, Tatanagar, Chakradharpur and Rourkela. There are eight coaches in the train. It will run at an average speed of 68.83 per hour. The train will greatly benefit the passengers and businessmen of Sundergarh, Jharkhand and West Bengal. It is noteworthy that on 24 September 2023, Bharat Express ran on the first stop between Puri and Rourkela. This train runs six days a week except Saturdays. It leaves Puri at 5 am and reaches Rourkela at 12:30 pm. It leaves Rourkela at 2:10 pm and reaches Puri at 9:40 pm. After a long demand, the much-awaited second Vande Bharat Express is about to run between Howrah and Rourkela, triggering a wave of happiness among the residents of the city.

The programme will be held in a weatherproof tent and arrangements will be completed at Rourkela station.

A grand ceremony will also be organised at Rourkela Railway Station for the inauguration of Vande Bharat Express train on Sunday. Its preparations have been completed. As per schedule, the Governor will leave for Rourkela from Bhubaneswar Airport at 9 am and will reach Rourkela at 10 am. From 10 am to 11.15 am, he will participate in the programme organised at Rourkela Railway Station. We will reach back at Rourkela Airport at 11.30 am from where we will leave for Bhubaneswar. Whereas Union Minister Jual Oram is only in Sundergarh district.
