Thailand India has recently implemented a new requirement for travelers from India and 92 other countries to enter without a visa. Starting December 1, all visitors must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before their arrival in the country.
Previously, travellers from these countries could visit Thailand without applying for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). Now, an ETA is mandatory for all arrivals except for citizens of Laos, Cambodia and Malaysia.
Why the change?
The introduction of advance entry clearance is intended to improve border security and streamline the immigration process. By requiring travellers to provide information in advance, Thai authorities can identify potential security risks and speed up the arrival process for legitimate visitors.
The ETA application process will be entirely online and free of charge. Once approved, the ETA will allow a single entry to Thailand for a period of 60 days, with a possible one-time extension of 30 days.
The ETA will apply to citizens and residents of the following countries:
