There was a commotion at Gaya Magadh Medical College, with patients being treated on crowded beds, stretchers and mats on the floor.

Bihar News: It was. Due to seasonal diseases and many other types of diseases, the number of patients coming to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital has increased significantly. Due to this, all the beds in the hospital are full. In case of emergency, apart from beds, chairs and stretchers, treatment also has to be done by placing mats on the floor. The ICU is fully full. Patients from the district and border areas of Jharkhand come here for treatment. The condition seems worse in OPD. There is a long queue at the registration counter from 8 am to 1 pm. Patients suffering from seasonal diseases like diarrhoea, flu, dengue, malaria, accidents, assaults and serious illnesses come here urgently.

Patient waiting for a bed in the emergency room

Due to the smaller space in the orthopaedic ward and the larger number of patients, patients cannot go to the ward while waiting for a bed in an emergency. Since the stretcher is not empty, relatives carry the patient on their laps. Even after the patient is stable, due to lack of space in the ward, he is forced to stay in the emergency room. Despite having 80 emergency beds, 100 to 120 patients are admitted here every day. During emergencies, an atmosphere of chaos prevails from morning to night. Doctors said that due to the large number of patients and their families, it is not possible to provide proper treatment here. More patients with snake bites are also arriving these days.

The risk of these diseases is greater when it rains

According to doctors, the risk of diarrhoea, typhoid, viral fever, dengue and malaria is higher and spreads rapidly during the rainy season. Typhoid and diarrhoea are caused by bad food and drink. There are also problems of vomiting and diarrhoea. Some bacteria also cause viral fever. The risk of flu is also high in this season. During the rainy season, there is the highest danger of diseases like dengue and malaria. Both are transmitted through mosquito bites. During this season, water accumulates, in which mosquitoes breed. Dengue and malaria increase due to their bite. If not treated in time, they can also be fatal.
